Equality and Equity! Both are aspirational.
To have equity everything you must be fair and impartial. To be impartial is a difficult mind set for the human mind. As long as an independent mind is able to think, we will agree that there will always be differences in what impartiality can be. The exception is when we are able to get all people to think as one. That’s a wonderful dream, isn’t it?
Very recently, three old fart but intelligent friends of mine were sitting around in our residents’ clubhouse discussing various issues. Contention arose when the topic of laws arouse, specifically pertaining to presidential executive orders. One adamantly contends that they are not laws… of course, I contend otherwise.
Regardless of our religious beliefs, I don’t believe that there are many individuals who do not ponder whether there is a heaven or a hell; for that matter, what exists after we depart the world or the dimension that we live in. This even includes atheists and agnostics, or even people who simply do not care.
One of the most widely used statements by both Democrats and Republicans, mostly to show appeasement to those who favor open and unchecked immigration, is “We are a nation of immigrants”. I was born in the United States and I am not an immigrant. Hundreds of millions of others can make the same claim, and likewise, they are not immigrants.
To set the record straight, I am not, thank God, a lawyer. Neither are most of the people who read this, but at least we can express our opinions on legality.
There is a constant barrage of one phrase that is spouted from the lips of our leaders of this country – Democrat, Republican, and Independents alike – “We are a country of laws!”
Over the past couple of days, some news channels were telling of an invasion….not of illegal aliens which are of old hat to them, but of a different species of spiders; the Joro spider.
Even the modern day news rag on the internet, YAHOO, printed a CBS report, “VENOMOUS FLYING SPIDER WITH 4” LEGS SPREAD ACROSS THE EAST COAST”. There is nothing wrong with printing the article for it is in line with YAHOO’s purpose of creeping out its readers.
